Because He has looked after me!!!
Ever feel like what you did was the worst of the worse!? That even God is mad at you and is hiding from you? You feel anxious, can’t sleep, etc. To make it worse- if it’s possible to feel worse- your “friends” are against you and your “enemies” are loving every minute of your misery! In fact, they are taking every chance they can to spread salt in your open wound. Even though they have done the same or worse! Not a fun place to be!
Sadly lots of us including myself can relate to this. If we are honest haven’t we all been to some degree? It’s a humbling feeling to become what you said you’d never be. Hurts, even more, when you realize that some of the people in your life weren’t your friends. The grace of God goes from something you read about to something you can’t live without. You see the “true” colors of your “friends” hearts as well as your own.
We can use these times to give up or give in to God. What I mean by that is when we fall it’s not God who moves away from us. It’s us who move away from Him. You can lay there listening to all the voices telling you to stay away or you can get up and start moving back toward God. I can promise you no matter what you’ve done or what they say God is ready to have you come back!!
Psalm 13: 1-6 NASB20 For the music director. A Psalm of David.
How long, LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long am I to feel anxious in my soul, With grief in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; Enlighten my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death, And my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” And my adversaries will rejoice when I am shaken. But I have trusted in Your faithfulness; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, Because He has looked after me.
